WELL REVIVAL

We offer specialty engineering solutions to extend field life, including repurposing of fully abandoned wells. This enables cost optimization by leveraging existing infrastructure and reduces the high initial costs of drilling new wells.

Abandoned wells, particularly oil and gas wells, are revived and reused for non-conventional gas production and geothermal energy, which helps mitigate their environmental hazards while contributing to the transition towards sustainable energy.

We analyze the candidate well and perform a detailed risk assessment and explore all possible design options. This provides a variety of possible scenarios and develops contingencies to ensure project integrity and the highest safety and environmental standards.

CASE HISTORY: ABANDONED WELL  RE-PURPOSING

Wellvalue was consulted by a major operating company in Bolivia regarding the feasibility of re-entering a completely abandoned well for reuse in future unconventional projects. This same company had conducted an initial analysis, but concluded that re-entry was not feasible.

After reviewing the information and performing a progressive well engineering analysis, Wellvalue provided highly customized solutions to safely re-enter the well and subsequently continue well construction operations to enable hydraulic fracturing and well testing.

The design work provided included the following deliverables:

    1. A comprehensive well engineering analysis and assessment of the risks involved in all planned well activities.
    2. Identification of key risks and their potential mitigations.
    3. Simulations related to well integrity, such as tubular design and drilling rig size, etc.
    4. A list of the required technologies, as well as the materials and tangible components for well construction.
    5. Program de activities.
    6. Project cost estimate.
